Environmental Practices
It is the intent of WILCO Civil Inc. to conduct all work activities with environmentally sound procedures and practices, and provide environmental training to all employees.
Environmental Guidelines
- WILCO will conduct an environmental risk assessment before work is to begin near shoreline or waterways.
- The risk assessment shall include methods for elimination or reduction of hazards to the shoreline or adjoining waterway.
- All WILCO employees shall be trained regarding spill prevention and cleanup.
- The WILCO supervisor shall be responsible to ensure employees are trained and monitored regarding the environmental practices.
Environmental Procedures
- Spill kits c/w with pads and booms shall be conspicuously located at the work site.
- Spilled hazardous or toxic materials shall not be permitted to leech or drain into any waterway.
- All spilled hazardous or toxic materials must be cleaned up immediately.
- All spills must be reported to the Wilco Supervisor.
- Hazardous or toxic materials shall not be stored on or near a waterway shoreline.
- Refueling of equipment shall be conducted in a designated area.
- Loose soil or other material must be protected to prevent erosion/runoff into a waterway.
- Equipment shall be operated only in designated locations.
- Heavy equipment shall be operated and maintained in safe condition.
- Heavy equipment shall not be operated in waterways without written approval.
- Harassment of animals or wildlife shall not be permitted.
- Approved sanitation facilities shall be used by all employees.
- Trash/garbage shall be disposed of in designated containers.
- The burning of trash or any materials shall have written approval.
