Fraser River Flood Protection Works is approximately 3000 meters of dykes on the north side of the CN railway tracks, from approximately 1400 meters west of Old Yale Road at the west end, to 130th street at the east end, in Surrey. The project was located inside the CN Rail Right of Way and therefore all works were coordinated with CN Rail including flagsmen and safety personnel.
This project also required constant control of run off and erosion due to the proximity to the Fraser
River.
Works included in the project are:
- 1700 LM of 1.5 Meter High Earth Dyke
- 1500 LM of 1.5 Meter High Concrete Flood Wall
- 10 Stop Log Roads/Driveway Crossings
- 1200 Meter Watermain
- Ditch Excavation
- Boring for Utilities Under the Railway
- Seepage Pits
